eBay Buyer of a “gorgeous” Mercedes Benz not satisfied

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

Back in 2006 an eBay user by the name of John N.  was the winning bidder of an auction on eBay outlined as a“gorgeous” Mercedes Benz S600, a 12-cylinder car that retailed for more than $100,000 when new. The auction had ended for $21,200.

John N. does not seem pleased with the car at all and as such has sued the seller for damages and accusing him of committing fraud since the car “had previously been in an accident, had serious mechanical problems, stained upholstery, rusted and worn-out undercoating and needed more than $1,700 in body work”. A great deal of people were searching on eBay for typos for Chevrolet Tahoe, BMW M3Chevrolet Nova, Chevrolet Camaro, Ford Escape, Ford Mustang, Ford Ranchero, Ford Escort, Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla, to just name a few. A number of these searches were yielding some great results, allowing these users to save anywhere between 30-50% on these cars!

Finding listings with typos does not only give you a great chance to save on cars you are looking to purchase, but it also creates an arbitrage opportunity that you may want to take advantage of. (more…)

eBay daily deals

Saturday, June 20th, 2009

What is it? It’s a great way for you to find incredible deals from poular online retailers. Think of it as an ongoing sale by the top online giants.

Taken straight from the eBay page:

Every day we feature an item from one of our trusted sellers that is deeply discounted (usually between 20% and 90% off) and offers free shipping. The only catch is that we have limited quantities of these fixed-price items, and at these great prices, they won’t last long. Once they’re gone, they’re gone. Since this is a “daily” deal, we update the deal at least once a day.
